- "Management wins Stanley Cups. Players can only do their best. You've got to bring the right ingredients to make a Stanley Cup winner and if the manager is not doing his job, the players can only do so much. You produce and do what's right, but if you don't have the talent there, you're not going to win many games."[1]
- Simple: People who get new players help win the Stanley Cup the most. Players can only play their best. You have to bring the right players to win the Stanley Cup, and if the person who does that is doing his job poorly, the players will only bring some success. If players play their best and are well coached, but you don't have the best mix of players, you are not going to win many games.
