Welcome!

Translating
I did a quick check of all your contributions today. Winston Churchill, Charles Spurgeon, Harry S. Truman, Shigeru Miyamoto, Ron Wilson, and Harry S. Truman were awesome, and very simple! On Henry David Thoreau, generally, websites like quotationspage, quotedb, brainyquote, etc. aren't reliable sources, but better than none. Google Books is very good for finding sources. But otherwise, you are doing very well! You've caught onto Simple English very well. Welcome again. :) TheAE talk 01:56, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

JarlaxleArtemis is also known as "Grawp" and is banned on enwiki for causing disruption. Any similar usernames are immediately blocked. GT5162 (talk) 18:37, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm. Do we block users based on their actions on other wikis here? We don't do that over at the English Wikinews, but I'm uncertain of the policy on that here. Tempodivalse 18:43, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Generally, Tempodivalse, you're right. But Grawp is another story. TheAE talk 18:47, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Ah that's right, isn't he the guy who was had an army of socks and sent thousands of profane and harassing emails to admins on en.wiki? In that case, a block is probably justified, to prevent a possible repeat of that here. Tempodivalse 18:52, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- If you look at the title blacklist on enwiki, all names that are similar to "Grawp" cannot be used in new accounts, new articles or destinations of page moves. Smaller wikis, such as this one, have less filters to stop them. GT5162 (talk) 19:00, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Editor Review
Hi, please could you comment on my editor review? Thanks. GT5162 (talk) 20:44, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Good catches! I wrote that awhile ago, and didn't proof-read very well. Thanks. :) TheAE talk 03:21, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Bureaucrat
Congratulations, you are now a bureaucrat for Simple English Wikiquote! Please read WQ:BUR if you have not already, and make sure you know all the rules and processes of bureaucrats. I'm sure you'll be a fine bureaucrat. Thank you. — RyanCross (talk) 10:55, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Re:
Thank you for the welcome; correct me if I am wrong but I believe I have seen you somewhere. Is it on Wikinews? :) Ali Rana (talk) 02:14, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it is Wikinews, I'm an active editor there as well. See wikinews:en:User:Tempodivalse. Cheers, Tempodivalse [talk] 02:16, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Us 'crats have our work cut out for us!
I'll take Maximillion Pegasus's RfA if you take Pmlinediter's RfB? :) –Juliancolton | Talk 01:21, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Open proxies
Hi, Tempodivalse, I hope that you are well this evening. I noticed that you were around blocking open proxies, and, if you haven’t already, you may wish to check admin zzuuzz’s block log on the English Wikipedia. The majority of his blocks are open proxies, so this may be of some use to you. :) Warmly, –Katerenka (talk • contribs) 17:44, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Or you might try the simplewp block proxy list. ^_^ Pmlineditor ∞ 17:48, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've mostly been getting my OP lists from meta:Meta:Open proxy detection and w:en:Wikipedia:Open proxy detection, but I'll use zzuuzz's block log list on Wikipedia too, thanks for suggesting it. :-) Cheers, Tempodivalse [talk] 17:53, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- You're quite welcome, though I confess to having selfish motives as a sometime target of proxy attacks. :) –Katerenka (talk • contribs) 17:55, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Your name is in teh blacklistz. Pmlineditor ∞ 17:58, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, and I appreciate that very much. :) That doesn't prevent my user page or talk page from being vandalised, though. So the more open proxies that are shown the door, the better, as far as I am concerned. –Katerenka (talk • contribs) 18:12, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- I can semi- your user and talk page if you'd like. –Juliancolton | Talk 20:23, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

<-Umm...OPs don't get indef'd, since IPs should never be indef'd. 1-3 years is usually enough time for the IP to transfer off the proxy. Griffinofwales (talk) 02:55, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- What Griffin said. NW (Talk) 02:57, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hm. According to Wikiquote:Blocks#Proxies the IP may be blocked indefinitely if it is an OP. I've always blocked OPs indef before. Tempodivalse [talk] 02:59, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- IPs can change from being an open proxy to not being one within 1 year or less. So why indef? --Bsadowski1 (talk) 03:00, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's my understanding that OPs rarely switch off. Given the vast number of these proxies that have been blocked here, it seems like an unnecessary effort to keep reblocking them year after year. There's more rationale on this at a recent en.wikinews discussion. Tempodivalse [talk] 03:13, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

- OPs do get indef blocked at times. The main reason is when the IP addy is owned and used by a company that runs open proxies for a living. fr33kman t - c 03:21, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
